Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Decent Cybersecurity Ltd, the operator of PNTMAP™, processes personal information in connection with this website.

PNTMAP is an intelligence and situational-awareness service. It is not an authorised navigation source and must not be used as the sole basis for flight planning, navigation or aviation safety decisions.

Who we are

Decent Cybersecurity Ltd, 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU, United Kingdom. UK company number 15364616. Decent Cybersecurity Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration reference ZBxxxxxxx). Data protection enquiries: privacy@decentcybersecurity.eu.

What we collect

If you use the contact form we process the name, organisation, email address, interest category and message you supply. We do not require an account.

Reading the site alone also involves some processing. Like any website, PNTMAP™ and the infrastructure serving it record technical request data: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the path requested, the HTTP status and response size, the referring page where supplied, and your browser's user-agent string. This data is generated by our hosting and content-delivery layer, which also applies edge security and web-application-firewall filtering (for example rate limiting and abuse blocking) before a request reaches the application. Our application additionally logs API and ingest errors, including the requesting IP, for abuse prevention and diagnostics.

Aircraft telemetry processed by PNTMAP™ consists of publicly broadcast ADS-B messages and our own RF measurements; it is not personal data about site visitors.

Security and hosting logs

Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in keeping the service available, secure and free from abuse, and in meeting our security obligations. Processing is carried out on our behalf by our hosting and delivery providers and our managed database and email providers, with data held in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area; some providers operate global edge networks, in which case transfers outside the UK/EEA are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Retention periods for edge, hosting and application security logs: [DECISION NEEDED]. These are set by our providers' defaults and will be stated here once confirmed. We do not use request logs to build profiles of visitors and we do not combine them with contact-form data.

Why we process it

To respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of the correspondence. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our services, or steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.

Retention

Contact enquiries are retained for up to 24 months from the last correspondence, unless a longer period is required for a contractual or legal reason.

Sharing

Enquiry data is stored on UK/EU infrastructure operated on our behalf and is transmitted by email through our transactional email provider. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

Analytics and cookies

PNTMAP™ sets no advertising or tracking cookies by default. Optional Google Analytics 4 measurement is loaded only after you actively consent through the banner on your first visit; if you decline, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics identifiers are set. You can change your choice at any time from the footer link. Strictly necessary storage (your consent choice itself, and unit-display preferences) is kept locally in your browser.

Where analytics is enabled by consent, Google Analytics 4 is configured with the shortest available event-data retention of 2 months, IP addresses are not stored by GA4, and Google acts as our processor under the Google Ads Data Processing Terms, with transfers outside the UK/EEA covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum. Withdrawing consent stops any further collection immediately, but does not retroactively delete measurement data already collected before withdrawal; that data expires under the retention period above, or you can ask us to request its deletion.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Contact the address above. Our supervisory authority is the UK Information Commissioner's Office, and you have the right to complain to it at ico.org.uk.
