Host a PNTMAP™ node

The network grows by placing small, remotely managed receivers at good UK sites. Hosting one takes a power socket, an internet connection and a window or roof with a clear view of the sky.

PNTMAP is an intelligence and situational-awareness service. It is not an authorised navigation source and must not be used as the sole basis for flight planning, navigation or aviation safety decisions.

Where we are looking

UK sites with height and an unobstructed horizon: city-centre buildings, elevated or hillside properties, industrial and warehouse roofs, airfield-adjacent premises, and anywhere along the coast. Priority regions are listed as planned coverage on the network page.

Power and connectivity

Standard 230V mains socket, roughly 5W continuous, comparable to a phone charger. Internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, using a few hundred megabytes per month. No static IP, no inbound ports and no changes to your firewall are required; the node only makes outbound connections.

Antenna and sky visibility

A small antenna needs a view of the sky. A window facing open air is often enough, a roof or external wall mount is better. The wider and higher the horizon, the more aircraft the node sees and the more useful the site is.

Mounting and installation

Installation is non-invasive and typically takes under an hour: mount the antenna, run a thin cable to the receiver indoors, plug it into power and the network. External mounting is arranged with the host; any landlord, freeholder or planning permission needed for an external fitting is the host's to confirm before installation.

Equipment ownership

All equipment remains the property of Decent Cybersecurity Ltd. It is provided at no cost to the host, and is collected or decommissioned if either side ends the arrangement.

Maintenance

Nodes are managed remotely: software updates, health monitoring and diagnostics are handled by the operator, and an automated watchdog alerts us within minutes if a node stops reporting. Hosts are asked only to keep it powered and connected, and to tell us about planned outages or building works.

Location disclosure

Public surfaces show an approximate location only: the node's town or district and a coverage radius, never a street address, unit number or host name. Precise coordinates are held internally for calibration and are not published.

Physical security

The equipment should sit somewhere not publicly accessible: an office, plant room, private roof or secured comms cupboard. Hosts are asked to report tampering, damage or theft promptly, since physical integrity of a node is part of the evidence chain.

Data and privacy responsibilities

A node receives only publicly broadcast aircraft transponder signals and measures conditions in the GNSS bands. It contains no camera or microphone, does not touch the host's network traffic, and collects no personal data about the host or anyone on the premises. The operator is the data controller for the telemetry the node produces.
